AFA 2011 - Day 3 (13.11.11)

Couldn't make it for the first 2 days as I was sick :(
Lighting conditions worsened towards the evening time because of the bad weather. Had to resort to using the crappy built-in flash.

Anyways, enjoy.

Cosfest X1 2011 - Day 1 and Day 2 (25/6/11 - 26/6/11)

Photobucket failed on me today. So I decided to try out Imgur to see how good of a picture host it can be. The good thing is that Imgur's preface is simple. The bad? You can't display album slideshows with their current API. Of course, that may change in the months to come.

Pic Spam: Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM

This was a telephoto lens that I rented for use over the weekends.

I'm pretty impressed by the results this lens achieves. Of course, that isn't surprising considering that the 70-200mm f2.8 is part of Canon's L-series lenses. The lens is a bit tad heavy, weighing in a 1310g. Although this is the case, I do not mind the weight as it really feels that the lens is solidly built.

The copy that I rented is not the IS version. IS only proves to be useful for night shots. We all have to remember that IS does not assist in stopping the movement of the subject. With its large minimum aperture of f/2.8, it certainly helps in achieving higher motion-stopping shutter speeds of 1/500 and above. This will definitely help in preventing the hand-shake caused at lower shutter speeds such as 1/60 and below.

Overall, I'm very delighted at the results this lens could give me. The color and contrast it reproduces has impressed me so much that I just can't bear to return this lens.

This is definitely the lens that I would use for sports/action, street and portrait photography. With its useful focal range and aperture, not only its versatile, it is extremely sharp as well.

Nerf War: OP Sunny Day Please

Taken with the rented Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM. Really great lens to use for an action hobby like Nerf.
